Visalakshi Vallury, MD, Ph.D., is the team’s other “Dr. V” – sharing the moniker with her husband of 40 years. But to keep things simple, she goes by Dr. Visala these days.

A primary care physician, specializing in family medicine, Dr. Visala practices at the Metroplex Medical Centres location in McKinney, TX, where she has also been a member of the community for the last decade.

Her practice style is heavy on providing context and information to her patients so they can take personal control over their own well-being. And when she is not in the office, she’s usually attending or listening to a variety of lectures or catching up on the latest developments in medical research. Her commitment to being on top of all emerging trends in healthcare makes her an incomparable physician.

Dr. Visala began her medical career in Chicago, where she grew up after emigrating to the United States as a toddler. She first received her Ph.D. in Physiology and BioPhysics and followed that up with an MD from the University of Illinois – Chicago.

And with her husband, she co-founded a community medical practice on the neglected southwest side of the city. For 11 years, she helped to organically grow a practice in which she developed several lifelong bonds with her patients.

After making the move to Texas in 2010, she joined a new practice group that became part of the Baylor system and for the last decade was serving patients of all ages in Irving, TX.

“My philosophy is to make all my patients feel welcome – to provide them with my very best, so when patients leave the clinic, they feel better.”

She’s been fulfilling that promise for nearly a quarter-century and Metroplex Medical Centres is thrilled to become the hub where she will continue to practice her art.

When Dr. Visala is not in her lab coat, she is often hard at work in her garden, where she, her husband, and her mother spend hours every week bringing in the next harvest of fruits and vegetables to share with their neighbors. She also has three grown sons and three grandchildren who captivate her.
