Venkata Vallury, MD, affectionately known by his patients as Dr. V, a pediatricain and family practice physician practicing
Metroplex Medical Centres. It’s easy to understand why patients travel long distances to see Dr. V. His patients often say
he makes them feel like family, providing care and knowledge above and beyond the expected.
Dr. V began his medical career in India, where he graduated with honors from Kakatiya Medical College in 1979. He came to
the United States in 1981 and quickly ascended the medical ranks in Chicago, Illinois, serving a diverse patient base, primarily
on the underserved South and West sides of the city.
In 1999, he took a leap and decided to open a physician-managed practice on the Southwest side of Chicago. As one of the
first physicians to break the dependence on the massive healthcare systems, he was expected to face an uphill battle. In a
location of the city that primarily spoke Spanish, Dr. V immersed himself in the language and culture so he could communicate
with his patients and make them feel welcome.
For over 11 years, he built a community entrenched healthcare clinic that experienced massive growth, strong patient loyalty,
and trained innumerable medical assistants and future doctors in ways to passionately, professionally, and enjoyably serve a
patient base.
When asked why he relocated to Texas, Dr. V said, “I came to Texas because I’ve been licensed here for 31 years.
I anticipated easing into retirement and enjoying my garden – but witnessing the rising levels of patient anxiety,
made worse by the pandemic, compelled me to be a resource in my community, giving back and informing everyone who comes into my
doors so they can feel better about themselves, their family health, and their bright futures!”
When he’s not providing care for his patients, Dr. V can be found making friends of strangers, telling dad jokes, and being
a baby whisperer to his grandchildren.
